Another One of God's Creatures Earns Its Angel's Wings

Good evening one and all.

Today, I received some disturbing news while I was at work. Those of you that know me, and know me well, know that I love animals and have 4 beautiful birds at home. Today, one of those birds passed away.

Jackie was a fun-loving cockateil. She would playfully nip when I stuck my finger into her cage. She would sit upon my finger or my shoulder. She was more than just a pet to me. She was a friend. She was a member of the family. I'll miss her deeply.

I dreaded coming home from work the whole afternoon, worried at what I would find and just how it would affect me. I came home to her lifeless body as it was laid out on some newspapers on the sofa. She seemed like she could wake up and talk to me at any moment. It was like she wasn't really gone, but more like she was just resting. I sat there for a few moments as tears welled in my eyes, stroking her soft feathers. She was just over four years old.

Jackie, I will miss you deeply and I will always remember and love you. You brought me much joy and happiness in your short time with me. But I know...another one of God's creatures has earned its Angel's wings.

A New Position At Work

About four weeks ago, I was offered a new position at work. This position took me away from the Pneumatics department that I worked in and put me in the CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) department. I was supposed to work with the current engineer and he was supposed to teach me things. Unfortunately, he left after I had been in the department for only a week. I guess he didn't like our manager (I don't understand why, he's a really cool guy.)

So, I have been in this department for three weeks and they hired my former supervisor back to be in the department as well. As far as I know, he is working on more R&D stuff while I am creating customer job drawings. So far everything has gone really well and I have loved doing the work! The days go by so much faster as I barely have time to stop for a smoke break. Maybe this would be a great time to quit!

I love doing the design work and I am learning all I can about AutoCAD (we are using 2007 LT.) Each day, I cannot wait to go to work and tackle the projects.

Dreams and aspirations of becoming an awesome guitar player. Yes, I was young and somewhat foolish. But NEVER, EVER give up on your dreams...

My senior photo. Who would have believed that I actually made it through high school? Well, I made it through college too, but that's another story...

My music career. Yes, in 5th grade I was a part of the legendary Joan Jett and the Blackeyes. Sadly our music career ended because we went to sixth grade. (l to r: me, Mark, and Anetta)

The original Karate Kids - Taken sometime when I was in 4th or 5th grade. Ralph Macchio ain't got NOTHING on us!

My cousin Robert and I in our first concert. We were sold out! We received a standing ovation...everybody walked out! (from l to r: me, Robert)

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog spot!

I will be posting my inner most thoughts on this site from time to time. Actually, my intention is to post something new each day so please check back often.

For those of you that don't know me. Allow myself to introduce...myself.

You could probably say that I'm a very observative person. I am actually quite shy. Ok. I'm extremely shy. But, I do tend to watch people... from a distance. I find it interesting how people treat each other. That is what most of my blogs will be about.

If you really want to know more about me, you'll just have to e-mail me and ask: phickman7872@hotmail.com
